OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Police said Tuesday that detectives have arrested a man suspected in the killing of another man whose body was found last weekend in northeast Omaha.
Police said James Fairbanks, 43, was booked into the Douglas County Jail after his arrest on suspicion of criminal homicide in the shooting death of Mattieo Condoluci, 64.
Officers found Condoluci’s body Saturday after responding to a shooting.
Police didn’t give details about the arrest but on Monday had acknowledged they were investigating an email sent to media outlets in which an anonymous author claimed to have shot Condoluci after learning he was on the Nebraska sex offender registry.
Condoluci was named on the registry, which noted offenses from Florida and Nebraska.
