Ricketts’ hand-picked candidate is incumbent Senator Julie Slama of Peru. Appointed by Ricketts after working on his 2018 re-election campaign she says Ricketts’ support has been “helpful.”

GOP Ad: Janet supports giving more taxpayer supported benefits to three time felons, and piling burdensome regulations on businesses and faith-based organizations. Palmtag even sided with radical Ernie Chambers against Governor Ricketts on prison issues.

In an interview with News Channel Nebraska, Slama said she was “Not Going to Comment” on the GOP’s radio ad. Asked if she knew about the ad before it ran Slama said she, “Was Not Going to Comment on That, Either.”
