Renegade closing Sioux Falls store, shifting inventory to Norfolk

NORFOLK, NE — A Norfolk-based clothing store is closing an out-of-state location.
Renegade Stores announced on Facebook Thursday that it is closing its Sioux Falls, SD store. Store management cites challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason for closing the store.
The Facebook post says the Sioux Falls store had not been able to do any business since mid-March.
“Our Sioux Falls store has seen consistent growth over the last few years, but as a young store, was still in a very fragile state,” the post said. “This, magnified by the impact of COVID-19 and lack of resources, has made it impossible for us to continue operating in that location.”
Meanwhile, Renegade management says the Norfolk location in Sunset Plaza mall has been able to operate through the pandemic. The post says that, while sales have been down, the store has been able to survive the pandemic.
Renegade says it brought nearly all of its Sioux Falls inventory over to its Norfolk location. The store has secured an additional temporary spot within the mall to serve as a second location.
Renegade is open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day. Management says they are following health guidelines and sanitizing regularly.
