(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State head softball coach J.L. Thomason announced recently the signing of Jordan Midkiff from Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, Colo.
 
The 5-8 Midkiff plays first or third base and is the daughter of Brandon and Brian Osterhaus of Colorado Springs and William and Tiffany Midkiff of Fort Carson, Colo. She plans to major in physical therapy while at Peru State.
 
Midkiff received honorable mention recognition in the Colorado Springs Metro League 5A in 2018-19 and 2019-20. She was also named her school's offensive player of the year once and then was named as the defensive player of the year in a different year.
 
Coach Thomason commented, "Jordan is a good catcher who also has the ability to move to one of the corner infield positions. She possesses a strong enough arm to all her to slow the other teams running game and also makes all the plays at third."
 
In conclusion, Thomason added, "She is a strong hitter whose swing translates easily to the college game with the ability to hit for some power."
