OGALLALA, Neb. (KNOP)- The Driftwood in Ogallala is preparing for a soft reopening this upcoming Friday, as businesses across the country begin to gradually reopen.

While the restaurant will be allowing customers to dine in once again, it is going to be a different experience than the public is accustomed to.

"There's going to be a lot of challenges. Tables six feet apart, everybody in masks, we can't do menus and stuff like that," said Jeremy Smith, a co-owner of the restaurant.

The measures being taking will be in order until at least May 31st, after that, the restaurant will reevaluate based on the state health guidelines. Capacity inside will be reduced by fifty percent and patrons will not be allowed to sit at the bar.

"We'll take all the precautions that we can and continue to social distance. Even though the doors are open, it's not going to be your normal restaurant," said Jeremy Smith.
