SIDNEY - Hair salons were allowed to reopen Monday under certain restrictions thanks to a new Directed Health Measure issued by Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts last week.

The Panhandle Public Health District released "COVID-19 Reopening Policies" to keep employees and customers safe.

Walk-ins are not allowed and each client must have an appointment. Each operator can have only one customer at a time. Customers are not allowed to have guests.

Both the employees and customers must wear a mask inside the building. Customers must bring their own masks. Those who do not have a mask must reschedule their appointment.

Customers are asked to wait in their vehicles until the salon is ready. When entering the business, they must sanitize their hands and remain six-feet a part from other clients.

Reschedule your appointment if you've had a cough or fever in the last 48 hours, have been around anyone with novel coronavirus symptoms, you live with anyone who has been sick and/or quarantined, and you have traveled outside of Nebraska in the past 14 days.
