DAWES COUNTY - Panhandle Public Health officials confirmed Sunday morning there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Dawes County.

Yesterday, the Nebraska State DHHS COVID-19 map indicated there were two positive cases in the county. Panhandle Public Health District (PPHD) normally receives notification and information on all positive cases in the counties it serves.

Any potential cases in Dawes County, however, were not included on the daily report it received yesterday.

Panhandle Public Health officials worked with state epidemiologists to determine if there was an error on the state's map. They confirmed Sunday morning that the state map was wrong and Dawes County still has zero positive tests for COVID-19.

The state map be corrected accordingly.
