Ogallala residents making masks for community
Some Keith County community members are stepping in making hundreds of masks for people in need.

OGALLALA, Neb. (KNOP) - Some Keith County community members are stepping in making hundreds of masks for people in need.
Members of the First United Methodist Church in Ogallala have been sewing masks for over a month.
"I felt a need to do it," said Ramona Upright.
Collectively, the five women have sewn and donated over 1,000 masks and are continuing to make more each day.
"This is just that other layer that we can provide and I like to sew, so it's been kind of fun having a little assembly line at my house," said Barb Jeffres.
Pastor Chuck Rager of the First United Methodist Church said he loves that his congregation is doing this.
"We are just so thankful for all the ladies that are doing this project for us and we are just so so thankful that they are a part of our church and our community."
The masks are free of charge and can be picked up from the First United Methodist Church by calling 308-284-8455 Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.
"if anyone, even in North Platte or McCook, or whoever gets this message, I'm putting us kind of out there, but if anybody needs a mask, or a bunch of masks, please contacts us because like I say, we just keep stitching, one mask at a time," said Judi Adkins.
They said they will take a free-will donation of materials for the masks or monetary donations, but it's not necessary.
