SIDNEY, NE - The founder of Bass Pro Shops is donating one million masks to healthcare workers and first responders across the country and Sidney Regional Medical Center (SRMC) will receive some of them.

In a news release, Bass Pro announced founder Johnny Morris is donating 4,000 masks to SRMC to help protect workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are extremely grateful to our nation’s healthcare workers serving on the frontlines of this unprecedented global health crisis,” Morris said in a statement. “These heroic men and women continue to dedicate their lives to save the loved ones of others, and we are all honored to support them on behalf of everyone at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s, and the communities we serve.”

In total, over 200 communities will receive a portion of the one million masks being donated. Every community with a Bass Pro or Cabela's store, boat center, distribution center and White River Marine Group manufacturing facility will get masks.

The masks will be distributed by Convoy for Hope, a nonprofit organization that provides food, supplies and humanitarian services to those in need.
