GRAND ISLAND - Residents are being laid off and businesses are losing revenue but the Grand Island Utilities Department is working with the community to stay afloat.

The Grand Island Utilities Department says it has received numerous phone calls from citizens who are worried about not being able to pay their bill.

As a result, they have suspended service cut-offs and will work with citizens on late fees. All they ask of residents is that they reach out.

If citizens are struggling to pay their utility bill, the department asks citizens to call and they will work something out.
