NEBRASKA - Communities across Nebraska took part in a national campaign Friday night to recognize the Class of 2020.
The "Be the Light" campaign saw cities and schools turn on the lights at various football and baseball fields at 8:20 PM, or 20:20 military time. The lights stayed on for 20 minutes, and car after car drove by to observe and honk their horns for the Class of 2020.
The communities of Grand Island, Hastings, and Wood River were among the participants, and similar proceedings were held in Holdrege, Blair, Albion, and York. Plans are already in place for the practice to continue on in the weeks ahead.
