Threats against the Douglas County Health Director, threats of lynching her and slicing her throat for her role in the COVID-19 crisis, find a well-known Omaha man behind bars.

Ron Penzkowski, better known as Ron Gerrard, once a top aide to former Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle and a former TV meteorologist, is accused of sending threatening cell phone emails to Dr. Adi Pour.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's office, a search warrant on Penzkowski's home found evidence linking him to the emails.

Dr. Pour has been front and center in the Metro's response to the virus, often recommending that people stay at home and only go out when it is absolutely necessary.

Penzkowski has been booked on one count of felony terroristic threats and one count of misdemeanor stalking.

The Sheriff's office says Penzkowski tried to disguise the emails making them harder to track down.
