SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. - (KNEP) - In lieu of the coronavirus pandemic, Western Nebraska Community College will celebrate commencement differently in 2020.

According to the school, the graduating class will receive a unique package that includes a graduation tassel, diploma cover, program booklet, alumni pin and other special gifts.

College President Carmen Simone says they are proud of the graduates for taking the challenges this semester has brought head on and still completing all the requirements to successfully graduate. She adds, its disappointing to not be able to celebrate in person but the school still wants students to know they are happy and excited to see all the hard work come to fruition.

Additional ceremonies, such as the traditional nurse pinning ceremony and the adult education graduation ceremony, have been postponed to later this year. Dates have not yet been determined.
