Grant to Help Construct Public Restroom, at Sertoma-Astro Park Splash Pad

BEATRICE – The Gage County Board has approved an $8,000 lodging tax grant to help fund a public restroom at Sertoma-Astro Park in Beatrice.
That’s where a popular new splash pad had its first season, last year. The grant will help pay for the restroom construction, which has a total cost of about $50,000.
The grant had been recommended for approval by a visitors committee which oversees use of county lodging tax revenue for tourist attraction improvements.
The county board Wednesday also approved the appointment of Jenna Fehringer as a new member of the Gage County Tourism Advisory Committee, for a four-year term. She is a kindergarten-through-8th grade resource teacher, at Tri County Public Schools.
In other action, the supervisors approved a two-year-agreement with Beatrice Lawn Care, for mowing on the courthouse grounds and surrounding area. The cost is $4,700….an increase of about $75.
