City of Beatrice, Gage County, Issue Recommendation on Coronavirus
No business closure ordered, at this time.
BEATRICE – City of Beatrice and Gage County officials are stopping short of ordering a shutdown of businesses but are strongly recommending precautions be taken by businesses to protect their employees and the public.
The city and county issued a joint statement Friday urging residents and business owners to practice social distancing and limit all public gatherings and events to ten people or less.
That’s been the recommendation from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, during the Coronavirus outbreak.
The precaution also applies to schools, daycares, fitness centers, theatres, salons, weddings and funerals. It doesn’t apply to medical providers, public utilities, critical city or county operations, office environments, factories, retail or grocery stores.
City and county officials hope that by residents and businesses taking the social distancing steps, it will help avoid further disruptions and assist in flattening the virus curve.
