FREMONT - Midland University and Fremont Public Schools are closing until March 15th to prevent any possible spreading of Coronavirus.

The University announced on Saturday that the campus will be closed effective immediately, and all extracurricular activities, both home and away, will be canceled or postponed. The closure is out of an abundance of caution, and is a preventative measure to mitigate, suppress, and delay the spread of Coronavirus.

Fremont Public Schools will also be closed district-wide effective immediately through March 14th, and all athletic and extracurricular activities and practices will be canceled or postponed. Archbishop Bergan Catholic Schools and Trinity Lutheran Schools will also be closed effective immediately through March 14th.

The quarantine period for Coronavirus is 14 days, and residents in Fremont are being asked to self-evaluate for symptoms which include a cough, sore throat, and fever. Residents are being encouraged to practice good hygiene habits such as washing your hands and coughing into your elbow.
