Osmond owns McCool Junction to earn trip back to State

COLUMBUS - Graysen Schultze hit four three-pointers and the four-seed Osmond Tigers breezed past 13-seed McCool Junction 63-33 in a Class D-1 District Final game Tuesday night.
After an 18-year stretch with no trips to Lincoln, the Tigers (24-1) are becoming regulars. This is the third straight year Osmond has qualified for State.
Schultze paced the Tigers with 20 points on 5-7 shooting. Keaton Timmerman added 16 points and 18 rebounds.
McCool Junction (18-6) never gained footing in the game. Osmond grabbed a 16-10 lead after the first quarter. The Tigers extended their advantage to 12 at halftime and the game was put away by the end of the third quarter.
The NSAA hasn't released an official bracket, but according to wild card points, Osmond will be the #3 seed in the Class D-1 tournament. The Tigers will face #6 seed Southern Valley (19-5) at 3:45 p.m. at Lincoln East High School.
