Omaha Man Arrested in North Beatrice, for Fifth-Offense DUI

BEATRICE – An Omaha man has been arrested by Beatrice Police on suspicion of a fifth-offense driving while intoxicated violation, along with driving while on a revoked license.
Early Saturday morning, police stopped a maroon Chevrolet truck with no rear license plate or visible in-transit tag.
A police officer noticed the driver having difficulty maintaining his lane, while northbound on North 6th, and pulled the driver over, in a motel parking lot.
The driver was identified as 35-year-old Valentin Rakhmanov, of Omaha. A records check by police showed that his ignition interlock permit had been suspended in April, 2017 and he was serving a 15-year license revocation, not eligible to drive until late March of 2028.
After stopping Rakhmanov, the officer detected the smell of alcohol and indicated the driver showed signs of impairment. Rakhmanov was arrested and booked at the Gage County Jail for a fifth-offense felony DUI violation registering over .15 blood-alcohol content and a felony driving under revocation charge.
Police said the traffic stop was made at around 2:40 a.m., Saturday.
