BEATRICE, NE - The North Platte Community College men's basketball team overcame a 15-point halftime deficit to beat Southeast Community College 79-77 on Saturday.

The Knights (8-18) hit 12 three-pointers on the way to tallying 54 points in the second half.  Luke Christen scored 20 of his team-high 24 points in the second half.

SCC (17-12) controlled the first half and led 40-25 at the break.  The Storm shot 46 percent from the field over the first 20 minutes and held NPCC to just 27 percent shooting.

The Knights fought back to take the lead with about seven minutes left.  They built their advantage to as much as six before the teams started to trade the lead in the final minutes.  Slavomyr Marchenko's and-one basket gave NPCC the three-point lead with less than a minute to go.  Stevin Gilliam responded with a three-pointer for the Storm to tie it back up with 25 seconds left.  NPCC guard Courtney Murrell drew a foul driving to the hoop and made his free throws to give the Knight the final lead.
