GRAND ISLAND - Friday turned out to be a historic Senior Night for Grand Island.
The Islanders defeated Pius 51-40, and in doing so won the Heartland Athletic Conference regular season title for the first time in well over a decade.
Despite second half foul trouble Them Koang led Grand Island with 16 points. Jayden Byabato contributed 12 more off the bench.
Kolbe Rada scored a team-high 13 for Pius before fouling out in the final minutes.
