Silva and Robinson January Bobcat Athletes of the Month

(Peru, Neb.) – Better a few days late than never announcing. Peru State athletic director Wayne Albury recently announced the January Peru State athletes of the month as Giovanna Silva (Brazilia, Brazil) and Kendrick Robinson (Chicago).
Both Silva and Robinson have been leaders on their respective basketball teams.
A 5-10 forward, Silva finished the month with four double-doubles and ended up averaging a double-double for the month. She scored 10.2 points per game and grabbed 11.2 rebounds per contest.
Silva is currently ranked in four NAIA individual categories: 19th in offensive rebounds per game (3.545), 22nd in total rebounds (203), 23rd in rebounds per game (9.227), and 33rd in defensive rebounds per game (5.682).
A senior, Silva had a season-high 23 points against Baker (Kan.) and grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds against Culver-Stockton (Mo.).
Robinson, a junior 6-6 forward, leads the Bobcat men's basketball team in scoring at 16.52 points per game and is also the team's leading rebounder grabbing 7.76 boards per contest.
Currently, Robinson is ranked in three NAIA Individual Top 50 categories: tenth in defensive rebounds per game (6.810), 32nd in total rebounds per game (7.762), and 49th in total rebounds (163).
Against Missouri Valley on January 22, Robinson went off for 31 points. He had his season-high rebound total of 17 rebounds against Baker (Kan.) on January 27.
Athletic director Albury noted, "Giovanna and Kendrick have proven to be leaders on their respective teams so far during the basketball season, and in particular, in January."
