NORFOLK - A Norfolk man is in jail after police say he threatened a man for money that a woman claimed she was owed for a sexual encounter.

In a news release, Norfolk Police say that last month, a man and woman met each other on an online dating app.

Eventually, the man asked to pay for sex and after the encounter, the man gave the woman a check.

When she went to cash the check, there wasn't enough money in the bank account.

The woman then recruited two men to help her get the money.

After threatening the man at his home, the trio left and he reported the incident to the police.

One of the recruited men was identified as 23-year-old Hans Berg, of Norfolk.

Police say Berg was arrested on Wednesday for terroristic threats, and theft by extortion.

This case remains open and additional charges are possible.
