(Peru, Neb.) – The Peru State Bobcat softball team will open up the 2020 campaign as they travel to Batesville, Ark., to play a four-game series on February 15 and 16.
 
On Saturday, Feb. 15, the 'Cats will face Bethany (Kan.) at 10 a.m. and then take on the hosts Lyon at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Bethany will be the opponent at 10 a.m. and then Peru State will face Lyon at noon.
 
The first home game of the year will be on February 23 as Hastings comes to play a double header beginning at 1 p.m.
 
On March 6 and 7, the 'Cats are back on the road as they will participant in the Friends University Invitational in Wichita, Kan. The games that Peru State will play are still to be determined. Three days later on March 10, the Bobcats will travel to Winfield, Kan., to play in a double header versus Southwestern College at 3 p.m.
 
Peru State will then be home for three non-conference double headers on March 13 – Briar Cliff (Iowa) – 2 p.m., March 14 – Northwestern (Iowa) – 1 p.m., and March 16 – College of St. Mary – 1 p.m.
 
The Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) schedule starts on March 18 as Peru State will travel to Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for a double header at 3 p.m.
 
The 'Cats will play their first home conference double header on March 28 as Culver-Stockton (Mo.) comes to town to play at 2 p.m. The next day, William Penn (Iowa) will be the guests for a double header starting at 1 p.m.
 
After one conference double header on the road against Graceland on March 31, the Bobcats will be home for six-straight conference double headers. The highlight of those six dates will be Saturday, April 11, which will be Senior Day where Mount Mercy (Iowa) will be the opponent.
 
Three road conference double headers follow before the final home double header which is scheduled for April 25 against Baker at 1 p.m.
 
For the 2020 softball season in the Heart, the 'Cats will play everyone from their division twice – once at home and once on the road. In the conference crossover games, there is just a double header with the teams from the South Division.
 
The Heart post-season tournament is scheduled to be played April 29 through May 2 at Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The top four teams from each division will play an eight-team double elimination tournament.
