27 Pounds of Meth Found in Seward County Traffic Stop

Three men were arrested and 27 pounds of meth were found during a traffic stop in Seward County on Wednesday.

SEWARD COUNTY - Three men were arrested and 27 pounds of meth were found during a traffic stop in Seward County on Wednesday.

The stop took place around noon when the Seward County Sheriff pulled over a tow truck on I-80.

During the stop, the Sheriff noticed several inconsistencies with the passenger’s story.

The passenger said there was also a second car traveling with them.

A K-9 was used and made a positive indication of drugs.

During the vehicle search, 21 packages of meth weighing 27 pounds was discovered hidden in the sidewall of the vehicle.

The investigation showed that the drugs were transported from Juarez, Mexico and intended to be delivered in Omaha.

24-year-old Christian Gardea, of Texas, 33-year-old Pedro Robles of Omaha, and 39-year-old Rex Kmiecik of Omaha were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of crystal methamphetamine.
