HARTINGTON - A northeast Nebraska elected official has pleaded not guilty to a DUI charge.

Cedar County Commissioner Christopher Tramp entered his plea to the misdemeanor DUI charge in county court on Wednesday.

He was arrested Thanksgiving weekend. The Nebraska State Patrol says Tramp's blood-alcohol content was over point-one-five after his pickup slid off the road and into a ditch along Highway 81 east of Crofton.

Tramp is in the middle of his first term on the Cedar County Board. He was elected to the post in 2018.

He's scheduled to be back in court for a pretrial hearing in February.
