BEATRICE – Beatrice Police arrested a male suspect and a female companion Thursday night after being contacted by Jefferson County Sheriff’s officers, about a potential suspect in a local crime there.
Beatrice Police Lieutenant Jay Murphy says police were notified at around mid-evening.


"They had asked us to watch for an individual who was a suspect in a stolen handgun and jewelry from a residence in Fairbury. The got information that this particular suspect was dropped off at a local hotel, here in town".


Beatrice Police contacted the man at the hotel, and found he had an active warrant for his arrest.
"They arrested him, got permission to search his hotel room. They did not find the handgun, but found some jewelry. It wasn't determine whether the jewelry was the stolen jewelry, from Fairbury".


Police also recovered drug paraphernalia with residue and a small amount of crystal substance…both testing positive as methamphetamine.
The male suspect and a woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Murphy said the man is 39-year-old Gary Ingrao, of Fairbury. The female suspect is 42-year-old Coleen Sanderson, of Wymore.

In a separate incident overnight, Beatrice officers were called to a South 12th Street residence to a report of a trespasser. Police said the reporting party had told the other man he did not want him at his property.
But police later found the man walking through the back yard of the home, just before two a.m. He was arrested for alleged trespassing.


He was identified as 24-year-old Milo Leslie, of Beatrice.
