KEARNEY - Kearney Police arrested a 30-year-old man after he barricaded himself inside his garage.
Lieutenant Jason Koetters said police were called out to a disturbance at a home near 48th Street and 10th Avenue around 11:45 p.m. Sunday.
When police arrived on scene, the man, armed with a knife, had barricaded himself inside his garage.
While in the garage, police said the man tried to set it on fire.
Lt. Koetters said there were other people inside the home at the time of the incident, but police were able to get them out safely.
KPD's emergency services unit was called out to the home where they were eventually able to get inside the garage.
The Kearney man was taken into custody just after 1 a.m. Monday, where police arrested him on attempted arson, as well as obstructing and resisting a police officer.
Nobody was injured.
