Huskers Finish Graduate Classic with 20 Titles
The Nebraska track and field team won 12 more event titles on the final day of the Graduate Classic at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track on Saturday in front of a crowd of 1,892. The Huskers concluded the two-day meet with 20 titles.

Kristina Insingo led a 1-2-3 finish for the Husker women in the shot put with a winning toss and PR of 52-4 (15.95m). Her mark moved her to No. 9 in Nebraska indoor history. Jamesha Hardig was second at 46-9 1/2 (14.26m), and Maddie Harris was third at 46-7 1/4 (14.20m).
Spencer Powell also led a 1-2-3 finish in the men's pole vault, clearing 16-2 3/4 (4.95m). Kevin Cahoy also cleared that height, but on his second attempt. Drake Burton was third at 15-9 (4.80m).
Ieva Turke claimed the top spot in the triple jump at 40-8 1/4 (12.40m). McKenzie Pearson jumped 39-11 1/4 (12.17m) to finish second, and Zionn Pearson was third with a mark of 37-2 1/2 (11.34m).
Petra Luteran was the top collegiate finisher in the high jump, clearing 5-8 (1.73m), while Madison Yerigan was right behind her with an indoor PR 5-7 (1.70m). Kevin Shubert took second place in the men's shot put with a distance of 52-5 1/2 (15.99m).
On the track, Matthew Brown, a sophomore newcomer, won the men's 60 meters with a time of 6.75, while Dominic Bentil took second in 6.91. In the women's 60 meters, Deja Ingram was the runner-up in 7.65, and Darby Thomas was just behind her in third at 7.68.
Isaiah Hutchinson won the 200 meters in 21.59. Fellow Husker teammates Mason Hericks (21.70) and Alex Nelson (21.83) were second and third, respectively.
NU freshmen Winsome Harris won the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.57, while McKenzie Pearson took third place with a time of 8.80. Husker captain Luke Siedhoff won the men's 60-meter hurdles crown with a time of 7.94, and Darrius Gaw was third in 8.29.
Chelsey Jones won the women's 400 meters with a time of 58.02. She also charged down the stretch of her 4x400-meter anchor leg to win the race for the Huskers in 3:56.79. Kayla Hugg was the runner-up in the 400 meters (25.04). Cody Mroczek was the third-fastest collegiate finisher in the 600 meters (1:22.41).
Nebraska's women's DMR squad of Judi Jones, Jessi Smith, Mia Morck and Elsa Forsberg won their race in 11:40.50, which was just one second shy of a top-10 mark all-time at Nebraska. The men's team of Jordan De Spong, Michael Knowles, Brent Wetovick and George Kusche won as well with a time of 9:52.98.
Kolby Heinerikson, competing unattached, was the runner-up in the heptathlon with 4,725 points.
The Huskers will host North Dakota State, Oral Roberts and Oklahoma at the Mark Colligan Memorial next Saturday. The quadrangular begins with field events at 11:30 a.m. and running events at 12:15 p.m. A portion of the team will also participate in the Prairie Wolf Invitational on Friday with both track and field events beginning at Noon.
