BEATRICE - Death, taxes and a snowstorm on the week of the MUDECAS tournament.

MUDECAS tournament director Randy Schlueter confirmed Friday that ALL girls' AND boys' MUDECAS championships and consolation games will take place on Saturday.

This comes after a snowstorm pushed across all of southeast Nebraska Friday morning, cancelling class for practically every member school in the MUDECAS tournament.

Here is a revised schedule:

Recap of Thursday's action:

No. 3 Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (9-4) is headed to the girls’ A Division title after a remarkable comeback against Sterling. After the Jets (10-3) led 29-15 in the third quarter, the Eagles went on a 16-2 run to tie the game and eventually win, 52-46, at the Beatrice Municipal Auditorium.

Junior Macy Kamler led the way with a game-high 23 points. Taylor Sliva scored 12. Macy Richardson led Sterling with 20 points.

BDS will now face Falls City Sacred Heart (13-1) in the title. The Irish dominated Diller-Odell Thursday, 54-25. Sacred Heart used a 20-1 first quarter run to assert themselves early on. Sterling and Diller-Odell will face off in a third place game.

In the girls’ B Division, Southern defeated Pawnee City, 30-24, while HTRS beat Johnson County Central 60-36. The Titans and Raiders will meet in the B Division title.

Turning to the boys’ A Division, in the first semifinal of the day, No. 5 seed Palmyra pulled an upset over No. 1 seed Parkview Christian, 63-47. The Panthers will take on Falls City Sacred Heart in the A Division title.

Sacred Heart (13-0) was going to toe-to-toe with Tri County (8-5) for 3.5 quarters, but the Irish outscored the Trojans 20-8 in the final quarter to win, 57-44. Junior Cole Siems led Tri County with 18 points. Lucas Weise had 10. Jake Hoy led the Irish with 18 points.

The Trojans now play Parkview Christian in a third place game.

In the boys’ B Division, No. 5 seed Southern upset No. 1 seed Exeter-Milligan, 55-48. The Raiders improve to 4-7, and will face Diller-Odell in the B Division title.

The Griffins (7-5) survived yet another close battle, defeating HTRS, 46-43. Austin Jurgens scored a game-high 21 points.

Diller-Odell and Southern are set to meet in the B Division title. Exeter-Milligan and HTRS are scheduled to meet in the third place game.
