STANTON - The Stanton Mustangs utilized a fast start and hot shooting to defeat the Plainview Pirates on Tuesday night.

Stanton took a 5-0 lead less than 30 seconds into the first quarter and never looked back, ultimately building out a 26-13 lead by halftime. Stanton would go on to outscore Plainview 22-12 in the second half, as Stanton's defense didn't allow more than 9 points in a single quarter to the Pirates.

The Mustangs closed out a 48-25 victory with the help of senior Emma Hansen, who scored a team-high 20 points in the win, including five three-pointers. The Plainview Pirates had a tough offensive night, but they were lead by sophomore Jozlyn Anderson who had a nice game leading the way with 8 points.

The win improved the Mustangs to 4-10 on the season, and they will look to keep their momentum going on the road this Friday against Boone Central/Newman Grove. Plainview fell to 1-13 with the loss, and will try and rebound on the road Friday night against Bloomfield.
