Nicholas Avery makes plea in Child Enticement Case

BELLEVUE - Nicholas Avery pleaded no contest Monday to first-degree sexual assault of a child. A Sarpy County judge found him guilty.
"He’s accepted responsibility for one count of sexual assault of a child. There were at least three incidents that we had charged, each one carrying a maximum of life imprisonment," said Ben Perlman, Sarpy County prosecutor.
The 35-year-old man was arrested in June after a 13-year-old girl was reported missing.

"Officers were able to actually narrow it down to a house in Bellevue and once they did that, they learned that a person that lived there was a registered sex offender in the state of Nebraska," said Jashinske.
Detectives also learned the victim had been sexually assaulted at Avery's home in Bellevue.
They said they found DNA on evidence that suggested the girl had been raped at least three times.
Although police say the teen willingly met up with Avery, the teen told her friend via social media that she was abducted. Police think it's possible she may have changed her mind.
Nicholas was arrested by Bellevue police in January of 2017 for child enticement by an electronic communication device. He was on probation at the time he paid for a Lyft to bring the 13-year-old girl to Nebraska. The judge revoked that prop
