O'NEILL - North central Nebraska wasn't spared the worst of this past weekend's winter storm.

Highways began Monday impassable from Wood Lake to Clearwater and from the South Dakota border all the way down to I-80.

O'Neill was among the many cities to declare a snow emergency. Holt County was hit with up to 10 inches of snow and wind gusts consistently at 40 miles per hour or faster.

Highways 20 and 281 leading in and out of O'Neill were both considered impassable Monday morning.
