The winter storm is over, but for many rescue officials and tow truck operators, there is still a lot of work to be done.

Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 30 were still closed Monday morning between Lexington and Grand Island, due to multiple stranded vehicles and blowing and drifting snow.

Blizzard-like conditions cause multiple accidents along the interstate Sunday, and wreckers were still getting stranded vehicles out Monday morning.

Many highways in central Nebraska were still considered impassable at daybreak. The Nebraska Department of Transportation shut down Highway 281 from the Spencer Dam north and pulled their plows off the roads.

As for Monday, the National Weather Service says another inch of snowfall is possible, but the main hazard will be wind, with gusts as high as 45 mph expected.
