Nebraska troopers arrest three after Oregon woman leaps from SUV
SIDNEY, Neb. (AP) - An Oregon woman survived leaping out of a Ford Explorer traveling along Interstate 80 in the southern Nebraska Panhandle and now faces drug charges along with two others in the vehicle.
The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers were called to a theft and assault at Love's Truck Stop off exit 59 in Sidney around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The suspects left and when a trooper tried to stop their vehicle near mile-marker 75, it slowed to about 50 mph when a woman jumped out and started running. A trooper caught the woman, identified as 20-year-old Kaniya Coleman of Portland.
The SUV then stopped and troopers arrested 22-year-old driver Quavaria Griffin, of Portland, and 27-year-old passenger Ellis Dickerson of Whitehall, Penn.
Troopers arrested the three people on drug charges. They were lodged into the Cheyenne County Jail. Coleman was treated for her injuries.
