The Schuyler Fire Department has ordered the evacuation of downtown Schuyler for a possible gas leak.
UPDATE: The Schuyler Emergency Manager has given the all clear to re-open all Schuyler city streets with the exception of: East 12th Street will be closed from B Street to C Street until further notice.

SCHUYLER - The Schuyler Fire Department has ordered the evacuation of downtown Schuyler for a possible natural gas leak.
Colfax County Attorney Denise Kracl says that a 6 to 8 block area of downtown Schuyler, including the courthouse has been evacuated.
Kracl says reports of the suspected natural gas leak were called in around 3:00 p.m. in the area of 12th and B Streets.
Officials are asking to public to avoid the entire downtown Schuyler area until further notice.
Kracl says that no injuries have been reported at this time.
