UNDATED - The blizzard may have moved on, but things aren't getting much better travel-wise throughout Nebraska.

Many of the highways in the Panhandle remained closed Sunday morning. Travel in all of western Nebraska was shut down Saturday as over a foot of snow combined with wind gusts over 50 mph to create widespread whiteout conditions.

Storm spotters in Chadron reported 14" of snow after Saturday's storm, while the National Weather Service office out of Cheyenne reported a maximum wind gust of 52 mph.

Westbound I-80 was still closed Sunday morning from Kearney to the Wyoming state line.

The system tracked east overnight and has state officials warning against travel on highways in north-central, central, and northeast Nebraska.

A winter weather advisory has been issued until noon Sunday for Boone, Madison, Wayne, Antelope, Pierce, Knox, and Cedar Counties. Forecasters say anywhere from one to four inches of new snow is possible in northeast Nebraska, while winds could be gusting up to 50 mph.
