Columbus crews ready for looming storm

COLUMBUS - Columbus Public Works said its crews have been out since 7 a.m. Tuesday treating overpasses, bridges and some roads with the salt/brine mix.
They said their plow trucks are standing by and will begin work when they see two inches of snow on the ground. They said depending on how much snowfall they get, crews may work through the night.
Town officials have declared a snow emergency and are telling residents not to park on 15th and 17th streets between 10th and 23rd avenues.
"Those vehicles need to be removed off those streets," Public Works Director Chuck Sliva said. "There’s no curb street parking in that area and those are towable offenses. The rest of the area is requested people use off-street parking wherever possible to help with the process due to the high winds predicted.”
Public Works said there will be some changes regarding those established snow routes.
The City also requests No-Parking on thoroughfares and arterials, including following streets and avenues:
