CULBERTSON - UPDATE:
The Hitchcock County Sheriff's Department reports at 7:45 am, Tuesday, a 54-year-old woman was air-lifted to Great Plains Health after colliding with an oncoming semi 1.7 miles east of Culbertson on Highway 6 & 34.

Sheriff Leggott says Karen Miller of rural Culbertson stopped at a controlled intersection, but as she pulled forward she failed to yield to the westbound semi loaded with corn, driven by 55-year old Timothy Krause of rural McCook.

The pickup landed upright and the truck landed on its side on the other side of the highway, with corn spilling across the highway. Traffic was diverted to a gravel road.

Miller was air-lifted to Great Plains Health. Krause was transported to the McCook Community Hospital for his injuries.
