Historical Human Artifacts Located In Madison County
A family out for a hike in Madison County Saturday afternoon discovered what are believed to be historical human remains.
MADISON COUNTY - A family out for a hike in Madison County Saturday afternoon discovered what are believed to be historical human remains.
According to the Madison County Sheriff's Office, the family was hiking along the Elkhorn River south and west of the Yellowbanks area when the remains were discovered. Several pieces of bone and a partial human skull were found in and along the water.
Sheriff's deputies made a preliminary determination of age and origin, but further investigations will be made with the aid of forensic and anthropologic experts to attempt a scientific determination. No foul play is suspected at this time, and there is no known connection to any active criminal investigation.
