COLUMBUS - What started out as a simple traffic stop turned into a drug arrest in Columbus.

It happened on Tuesday, near 22nd Avenue and 8th Street.  Police said an officer stopped a vehicle for a broken tail light.

A CPD spokesman said the driver was emptying his pockets after the officer got him out of the car and that that's when a small baggie fell out.  They said it contained trace amounts of suspected meth.

Police arrested 41-year-old Darrick Nekuda for possession of a controlled substance.

Nekuda's bond is set at $10,000 and he's scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 27.
