Dump truck knocks out light pole

NORTH PLATTE - Traffic at a North Platte intersection was disrupted Wednesday when a dump truck damaged a light pole.

It happened at the intersection of 9th and Jeffery Streets around 11 am Wednesday.

Witnesses at the scene said a dump truck appeared to drive into the intersection with its box still extended. The box clipped the extension of a light pole, tearing down the stop lights.

Traffic had to be diverted around the intersection while new lights were installed. There were no reports of any injuries.
