Vintage antiques, homemade crafts, decorations, candles, perfume, jewelry; you can pretty much find it all in Madison, Nebraska over the weekend.

Over 50 vendors came to the Madison County Fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday for the 3rd Annual Market Holidays at the Fair. Although shoppers can find all kinds of products and merchandise at the event, Christmas decorations seemed to be common at many of the booths.

But, as the month of November has just started, is it too soon for Christmas decor?

I asked around the fairgrounds during the event to see what Nebraskans thought on the divided subject.

"We have to wait until after Thanksgiving, the weekend after is fine, but we need to let the turkey rule November," Kim Foster from Madison said.

On the other hand, Bellwood resident Seth Limbach is already in the process of setting up his Christmas decorations. "I am one of the early birds," Limbach said, "as much as my wife would disagree with me, I think the day after Halloween. The Halloween stuff should come down and the Christmas stuff should go up."

"My opinion would be after Thanksgiving," Jeanne and Shelly Kruger of Norfolk said. "Everybody forgets about Thanksgiving. We should do it after Thanksgiving," they said.

Even though there is no right answer to the divided question, the majority seems to side with setting up Christmas decorations after Thanksgiving. However, no matter what time of the year you set up your decorations for the holidays, just remember to enjoy it with family, friends, and loved ones.

The Market Holidays at the Fair event ends on Sunday, vendors open at 9 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.
