COLUMBUS - A Columbus man is in jail after allegedly leading police on a chase.

It happened on Wednesday.  CPD said officers were responding to a domestic assault call near 15th Street and 49th Avenue.  Along the way, they said officers intercepted the vehicle the suspect left in and that he gave chase when they tried to pull him over.

Police said the driver later got out of his vehicle and ran into a residence, where officers apprehended him.

They arrested 52-year-old Alan Woerth for domestic assault, willful reckless driving, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.

His bond is $75,000 and he's scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 13.
