Nebraska high school volleyball district final pairings released

All district finals are scheduled for Saturday.

The high school volleyball post season is in full swing as teams have completed their sub-district tournaments and several area teams will be competing in district finals with a chance to make the trip to the Nebraska School Activities Association State Volleyball Tournament in Lincoln on Nov 7-9.  All district finals are scheduled for Saturday. 

Syracuse advanced to the district final by defeating Auburn, 3-0, and will be the No. 9 seed in the Class C1 bracket. They play No. 8 Battle Creek in the C1-8 district final.  The Braves upset Wayne in their sub-district final.  First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Centennial High School in Utica.  The Rockets are looking to make their second-straight trip to the state tournament.

Lourdes Central Catholic won their sub-district by defeating Elmwood-Murdock, 3-1, and will be competing in the C2-3 district final as the No. 14 seed. The Knights square-off against No. 3 Grand Island Central Catholic at 2 p.m. Saturday at Centennial High School.  

Johnson County Central defeated Freeman to win their sub-district and will have the No. 15 seed and face No. 2 seed Superior in the C2-2 district final at Fairbury High School at 3 p.m.

Johnson-Brock earned a trip to the district finals by defeating HTRS in their district final. They will be competing in the D1-6 district final as an 11-seed against 6th-seeded Hartington Cedar Catholic at Shelby-Rising City at 5 PM.

The Titans earned a wildcard berth into the D1-8 district final after their loss to the Eagles. They will be the No. 8 seed and face off against No. 9 Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family at 3 p.m. at Crete High School.

After defeating Sterling in their sub-district final, Falls City Sacred Heart advances to the D2-8 district final as 8-seed against 9-seed Waunea-Palisade.  First serve is at 6 p.m. at Hastings High School.
