Columbus police: Two arrested for drugs following altercation
Two people are in jail after Columbus police nabbed them for drugs.

COLUMBUS - Two people are in jail after Columbus police nabbed them for drugs.
It happened Wednesday near 16th Avenue and 23rd Street. A CPD spokesman said an officer smelled pot coming from a vehicle and called in more officers.
They said during a vehicle search, they found a pipe, a bag and a digital scale, all with trace amounts of suspected meth.
They said a man in the vehicle also had a baggie of marijuana and that he tried to get away but that officers took him to the ground, where he continued to fight back. During the struggle, they said one officer suffered an injury to his face, which required stitches.
Police arrested 29-year-old Devin Weldon and 31-year-old Amparo Gonzalez for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Weldon was also cited for assaulting a police officer.
Both have $75,000 bonds.
Gonzalez is set to appear in court on the 30th, while Weldon is scheduled for November 6th.
