SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The night after pulling off a sweep over Missouri Valley, the Peru State volleyball team was swept by Evangel Saturday in Springfield, Mo.
The Crusaders spanked the 'Cats 25-9 in each of the first two sets and then completed the sweep with a 25-17 third set win.
Evangel hit .248 in the match and held the Bobcats to a negative hitting percentage at -.089.
Claire Cudney finished with a match-high 15 digs
The win by Evangel kept them one game ahead of Peru State in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) post-season chase with a 7-7 conference mark. The Crusaders improved to 20-9 overall. The Bobcats fell to 10-21 on the year and are 6-8 in the Heart.
