The Nebraska women's tennis team heads to Norman, Okla., for the 2019 ITA Central Regionals from Oct. 17-22. Six members of the Husker squad are set to compete at this year's tournament, hosted by The University of Oklahoma at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
 
The Central Regionals will host players from more than 25 schools, including Big Ten foe, Iowa. Qualifying singles rounds begin Thursday with main draw matches set to start Friday, continuing through Monday. 
 
Following a standout spring 2019 performance, Claire Reifeis will look for a strong showing in Norman. In the Spring, the senior from Indianapolis, Ind., went 19-6 and was named First Team All-Big Ten. Last week, Reifeis competed in the ITA All American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., where she defeated Kaitlin Staines of Tennessee 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. 
 
Hayley Haakenstad makes her second fall appearance after her first showing at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic. Haakenstad has been a consistent leader on the team and hopes to continue her success as she kicks off her senior campaign. The Chanhassen, Minn., native went 13-10 last season and earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
 
Sophomore Jessica Aragon will make her second fall appearance after being selected to compete at the ITA All American Championships last week. Aragon finished her freshman spring with a 10-12 record, including 4 wins over Big Ten opponents. Aragon played a major role on the doubles court as well. Partnering with Reifeis, the duo went 13-6 playing predominately out of the No. 2 spot. 
 
Ellie and Chloe Kuckelman are set to make their Husker debuts at this week's ITA tournament. The freshmen twin's out of Overland Park, Kan., made impressive marks in high school, but are prepared to contribute significantly for NU in both singles and doubles. 
 
Senior Emma Worley will also be making her first fall appearance in Norman. Worley has played a major role on the team for the past 3 seasons and looks to continue her growth in fall tournament play. At the 2018 ITA Central Regionals, Worley picked up a 6-0, 7-5 victory over Jabremski of Oklahoma.
