COLUMBUS - A high-speed pursuit overnight netted Columbus police a good-sized drug bust.

It happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. CPD said it started as a traffic stop for a broken tail light when the driver gave chase.  They said at times, the pursuit reached speeds between 80 and 100 miles per hour in the areas of south and east Columbus and that the car eventually went off the road when making a turn.

Police took the four men in the vehicle into custody.  They said they also found 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana and 40 units of edibles in the car.

Officers arrested Joel Cerros, Efrain Trevino, Jose Rodriguez-Hernandez and Manuel Canchan for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.  Canchan was also cited for willful reckless driving and flight to avoid arrest.

All four are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 30.
