MAYWOOD - Authorities say one man is dead after a car accident in Frontier County.

The Frontier County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Keith Padilla of McCook was killed Monday afternoon around 3 PM about three miles north of Maywood

Law enforcement says Padilla was southbound on Highway 83 when his car crashed head on with a northbound semi-truck.

Padilla was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi was taken to McCook Community Hospital with minor injuries.

An autopsy for Padilla was ordered and drugs and alcohol are suspected as contributing factors in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
