Manhunt leads to Columbus man's arrest
A Columbus man is in custody after leading law enforcement on a brief manhunt Thursday night.
The Nebraska State patrol said shortly after 7:30 p.m., a state trooper patrolling the town saw a vehicle associated with a man who had several outstanding warrants in Platte County.
They said the driver led the patrolman on a brief chase after he refused to pull over. NSP said the driver abandoned his vehicle north of town, so they -- along with U.S. Marshals and Platte County Sheriff's deputies -- set up a perimeter. They said they found the man hiding in a corn field.
Twenty-eight-year-old Davion Seizys was arrested for willful reckless driving, possession of methamphetamine, and the outstanding warrants from Platte County, which include possession of a controlled substance, domestic assault, false imprisonment, and disturbing the peace.
